  • May 15, 2010 Annual Trade Day and Benefit Auction - Multi-Town Event
    Come Downeast in May and tour the area while shopping at the peninsula-wide yard sales. The day ends with a benefit auction at Hammond Hall in Winter Harbor

  • July 23, 2010 Franklin Family Fun Day, Fourth Saturday in July www.franklinmaine.com
    Come join us for a day of old fashioned fun in Franklin! There will be a watermelon eating contest, bake-offs, sack races, craft fair, games for everyone and so much more! Admission is free. For a small fee you can enjoy some down home cooking at the famous chicken barbecue. Click here for more information.

  • August 7, 2010 Sullivan Daze
    Sullivan's All-day festival is put on by the volunteer firefighters of Sullivan and Sorrento to celebrate community pride and to help raise money for the Volunteer Fire Department. Sullivan Days (First Saturday in August) Come celebrate the summer with an entire day of fun and special events including raffle tickets for a variety of prizes, a bounce house for the children with games and a dunk tank. Come on out and support the town's Fire and Rescue Department and Women's Auxiliary. Eat hamburgers, hot dogs and mouth watering sausage.

  • August 14, 2010 Winter Harbor Lobster Festival (Second Saturday in August)
    "Lobsters, Breakfasts, Craft Fair, Parade and more" This festival draws a large crowd of spectators. It is a fun-filled day with many scheduled events. Start off the day with a blueberry pancake breakfast, then watch the ever popular lobster boat races, with 13 classes rated by size and power. Shop at the craft fair with 80 exhibitors, eat a Maine lobster dinner and stay for the evening parade! Information available at www.acadia-schoodic.org (Schoodic Area Chamber of Commerce) There will be a variety of other foods available, such as coffee, muffins, sandwiches, French fries, cotton candy, kettle corn, nachos, and sno-cones. Come for a day of family fun. No admission charge

  • Farmstead Barn East Sullivan, Maine
    The Hancock County Friends of the Arts announces the 39th season of the Farmstead Barn this summer. The old barn on Route 1 in East Sullivan welcomes hundreds of children every July with its free shows. This season we'll have juggling, comedy, music, mime, and magic, all beginning in July. All shows are at 9:30, and 11:00. Admission is free. Donations are welcome. For more information, call (207) 422-3615. Groups planning to attend should call in advance. The Barn is located on Route 1 in East Sullivan. It is 15 miles north of Ellsworth and 3 miles south of the Gouldsboro Post Office.

  • Frenchman Bay Conservancy - Monday Night Concerts - Tidal Falls in Hancock

The Frenchman Bay Conservancy will be hosting Monday night concerts starting June 21 and continuing until August 16. This years performers include Flash in the Pans, The Machias Ukulele Club, SHUSH, Joyfull Jazz and the Fletcher's Landing Philharmonic Orchestra. Click here for details!

  • Open Lighthouse Day - September - TBA

The U.S. Coast Guard, the State of Maine and the American Lighthouse Foundation are pleased to announce the first ever open house of Maine lighthouses.

The largest effort of its kind in the nation, the event is designed to provide access to the public to all participating lighthouses on that one day. In Maine, 52 lighthouses will be open, free of charge, to the public.

The partnership with the Coast Guard, State of Maine and American Lighthouse Foundation is intended to increase awareness of Maine’s maritime heritage and the rich history of its lighthouses and lighthouse keepers. More ...

  • Pierre Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestra

    Faculty and student musicians host numerous summer performances at the school in the Town of Hancock on Sundays at 5:00 PM and Wednesdays at 7:30 PM. Visit www.monteuxschool.org for more information.
